Several apartments, cars and a music studio were destroyed in a huge fire in Nashua, New Hampshire Tuesday morning.
Flames broke out in an apartment building on Ash Street around 6 a.m. and the fire spread to cars in the parking lot and at least two other buildings. One of them was a recording studio on Vine Street.
At least five people were taken to the hospital, according to Nashua Police Sgt. John Cinelli.
“Multiple people were transported, mostly because they were exposed to the weather,” Nashua Fire Chief Steve Buxton told reporters. “I do not know that there are any life-threatening injuries. I think they’re all minor injuries.”
There’s no word yet on how the fire started.
Mariah McCarthy said her grandparents had lived at the Ash Street apartment for more than 60 years. They were taken to the hospital but were safe, McCarthy said.
“It’s just really sad to see the house in flames and water coming out of it,” she told reporters. “Just seeing it in pieces is really heartbreaking.”

Jesse Rutstein works at the music studio that was heavily damaged in the fire.
“I know that one of the studios is absolutely fried,” he said. “This is pretty wild because we’re going to have to relocate, there’s no way we’re staying here after this.”
Rutstein said thousands of dollars in guitars, musical equipment and recording gear may have been lost in the fire.
“This has just been my home away from home for like five or six years now,” he said.

Firefighters from Hudson, Manchester, and Lowell, Massachusetts were among the several departments called in to help put out the fire.
Nashua, New Hampshire is 45 miles northwest of Boston.
