A Pat on the Back
Each year, the Willwoods Community honors a person (or persons) exemplifying the Gospel message of love and mercy. For 2026, the tribute tapped Patricia “Pat” Fenerty Andras as the recipient of the Servus Fidelis Award (The Faithful Servant). She was surrounded by family, friends and the Willwoods Community at the 23rd annual gala, which took place at the Metairie Country Club. In 2025, Peter Finney III was hailed.
After a round of cocktails, which was preceded by a Vigil Mass at the nearby St. Francis Xavier Church, guests sat for dinner and tributes. Special thanks were extended to The Gumbo Trio, gala coordinator Erin Vezina Caruso (a Servus Fidelis honoree in 2022 with spouse Joe), development director Helen Sigur, honoree Pat Andras as the marketing consultant, and Emily Andras for the program’s cover design. Kenneth Martinez chairs the Willwoods Community Board of Trustees and Advisors. Chair emerita Jane Nalty (the Servus Fidelis 2009 co-honoree with her late husband, Deacon Paul Nalty) figured as the sole name in the Buon Servitore category. The next tier was Buen Servidor with the names of Becker Suffern McLanahan Ltd., Phyllis Taylor, and Bob and Norris Williams. The Patrons category ran alphabetically from Mr. and Mrs. David C. Andras to Theresa Williams. Within were Jackie Appleton, Michael Bardwell, Drs. Nicolas and Haydee Bazan, Alice Lane “Laney” Read Calhoun, spouses Jaye Calhoun and Charles Moll, the Carusos, the Rev. Robert Cavalier, the James Donovans, the Arthur Dupres, the John Englehardts, Lynda Favret, the Michael Garys, the David Gooches, Katherine Hakenjos, the Lloyd Hucks, Sandra Karcher, Karen Lambert, Judy Leggett (with tales of her cousin, the late artist George Dureau), Deacon and Mrs. Gary Levy, the above Kenny and Mrs. Martinez, Dr. Robert “Bob” and Judy Quinilty, Peter Quirk, Julie Ridley, the Mark Rodis, the Larry Schedlers, Dr. Frank E. Schmidt, St. Denis J. Villere, and Paciera, Gautreau and Priest, LLC. Several were past honorees. Most were noted at the gala, as were Willwoods board members Mary Jane Becker, John Charbonnet, and Blanche McCloskey. To mention a few. The gala benefited the ministries of Willwoods Community, an Apostolate of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, such as Affordable Housing, Faith and Marriage, Prayer Ministry, TheDailyMass.com, and WLAE-TV.
