Joe recommends: BITCRUSH offer up their third single in “Your Fate”, and it’s becoming evident that they have quite the penchant for modern metal. The glimmer synths add an air of ambience while Amanita’s soaring vocals and the crushing guitars allow “Your Fate” to move the listener on a deeper level.

Dobbin recommends: “Unravel” is a fast and powerful post-hardcore track that encapsulates the heaviest end of the genre. This is their second single of 2026, presenting their sound in a shorter format with a ripper of a chorus and blistering ending. Closure are one of many Australian acts that create a buzzing grassroots heavy scene that continues to be the envy of the world.
Long Goodbye – my dearly departed (Single)

Joe recommends: The next chapter of Long Goodbye’s story has begun as the metalcore unit announce their signing to Papercut Records alongside savage track “my dearly departed”. Hitting full-throttle from the outset, Long Goodbye showcase one of their heaviest tracks from the date, as each layer is packed with absolute rage. If this is a sign of what’s to come from their upcoming record A Whispered Promise of Failure, Long Goodbye are set to further prove they are one of the best metalcore acts going.

Dobbin recommends: This week Serena Cherry steps through the wall of fog, returning to her melodic black metal project, Noctule. Her new record will take on Miazaki’s Elden Ring, touring its bosses with “Lord of Blood” being an anthem for Mogh’s palace of pain. Constantly layered guitar leads swerve like rollercoasters over vocals both ferocious and serene. The production has been re-specced for the sophomore album, crafting a ride that set to be unrepentantly epic.
