Santa Monica is about to get cooler!
Goldenvoice, the producers behind Coachella and Stagecoach, has just announced Ocean Way Festival, a new two-day music festival on the beaches of Santa Monica on September 26 and 27.
The lineup they’ve announced is no joke. As the first major music festival in Santa Monica, Ocean Way Festival is bringing the big guns with The Killers and Grammy’srecent Best New Artist Olivia Dean as headliners, alongside Jack White, Khruangbin, Sublime, Durand Jones and the Indications, Alvvays, SG Lewis, 54 Ultra, Hiatus Kaiyote, BLOND:ISH, Poolside, Hot Chip DJs, and more performing across two nights.
With the iconic Santa Monica Pier framing the main stage, Ocean Way Festival brings together rock, indie, soul, house, and more across two stages for two full days. The festival has received full support from the City of Santa Monica and was christened with the name of the street, Ocean Way, where Allen Sides founded Ocean Way Recording Studios more than 40 years ago.
“Santa Monica has an incredible music history, and Goldenvoice has been fortunate to be part of that story,” said Nic Adler, VP Regional Festivals, Goldenvoice, in a press statement. “From legendary shows at the Civic Auditorium to the origins of Ocean Way Recording just steps from the beach, there’s a creative legacy here that’s unlike anywhere else. Ocean Way Festival is our opportunity to celebrate that history while building something that feels authentically Santa Monica for years to come.”
The City of Santa Monica has been seeking to develop the Ocean Way Festival as part of its $60M+ Realignment Plan and has chosen Goldenvoice to produce it. The festival serves as a cultural anchor of ‘The Sandbox on the Beach,’ the city’s new beachfront district for major civic events and gatherings, alongside FIFA World Cup 2026, Super Bowl LXI, and the LA28 Olympics and Paralympics activations.
“Santa Monica is in the middle of a renaissance,” says Santa Monica’s Mayor Caroline Torosis. “The city is welcoming the world to its shores, and Ocean Way Festival is how we’re making sure our own community is at the center of it.”
Leading up to the festival, there will be free events and activities throughout Santa Monica, including free concerts, beach cleanups, leadership programs for local high school and college students, youth surf and water safety programming, and local business partnerships.

Where and when is the festival?
The Ocean Way Festival will be held on Santa Monica beach on Saturday, September 26, from noon – 11 pm, and Sunday, September 27, from noon – 11 pm.
“The Sandbox” is the beach area between the Santa Monica Pier and Bay Street. The Pier Event Deck is also being utilized for this event. The festival is set to stretch across the beach between the Santa Monica Pier and Bay Street, with the main stage featuring five acts per day and the second stage offering a more intimate setting. The grounds will have space for standing room and open blanket areas, just like people do at the beach.

Santa Monica residents will be offered a presale beginning Wednesday, July 22, at 11 am PST. Tickets for the general public will be on sale Thursday, July 23, at 11 am PST.

Tickets are available as single-day (Saturday or Sunday) or two-day passes:
- 2-Day GA | Starting at $399: Access to all GA areas, both stages, shaded/seating areas, and food and beverage vendors throughout the festival grounds.
- Single GA tickets | Starting at $229: Access to all GA areas, both stages, shaded/seating areas, and food and beverage vendors throughout the festival grounds.
- 2-Day Premium Pit | Starting at $749: All GA access plus entry to the Premium Pit at the main stage, featuring a dedicated bar, flushable restrooms and access to an elevated viewing deck.
There are payment plan options available, as well as official hotel packages bundling festival tickets with local spots.
Is there a VIP experience?
There is a Premium Pit experience. There is also the Proper Beach Club.
In partnership with Proper Hotels, there will be a beachfront hospitality experience called the Proper Beach Club, with separate tickets available for purchase here.
Parking in Santa Monica is a nightmare. What is the parking situation?
The festival will also be a sustainable, transit-first festival experience with no on-site parking. Instead, it will promote LA Metro’s E Line, Big Blue Bus, shuttle services, and bike valets.
