The Newport Beach Film Festival has unveiled its highly anticipated lineup, promising an unforgettable week filled with Hollywood’s brightest talent and the year’s most buzzworthy films.
Set to run the week of October 16–23, the annual festival will feature more than 100 feature-length films and 250 shorts representing 32 countries. Now celebrating its 26th year, the festival continues its tradition of spotlighting bold storytellers, international perspectives, and award-season favorites.
Opening night will kick off with a screening at Regal Edwards Big Newport of Richard Linklater’s “Blue Moon”, starring Ethan Hawke, Margaret Qualley, Bobby Cannavale, and Andrew Scott. The festival will close with Guillermo del Toro’s anticipated take on “Frankenstein”, featuring Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Oscar Isaac, and Christoph Waltz, screened at the historic Lido Theater.
“As we celebrate our 26th year, this lineup unites the season’s most exciting films with visionary filmmakers from around the world,” said Gregg Schwenk, CEO and Executive Director of the Newport Beach Film Festival. “Newport continues its proud tradition of showcasing films that go on to become major award contenders. We can’t wait to share this year’s program with our Orange County community and reveal even more special events as the festival approaches.”
Beyond the big screen, the week will include events with some of entertainment’s most recognizable names. In partnership with Fashion Island, audiences can attend various talks and panels around the outdoor mall, including an Author Talk with “You” star Penn Badgley, alongside Sophie Ansari and Nava Kavelin, as they present Crushmore: Essays on Love, Loss, and Coming-of-Age. On October 18, “Emily in Paris” and “Joy Ride” star Ashley Park will join Women’s Wear Daily editor Ryma Chikhoune for a Q&A session on fashion.
The festival also boasts nightly parties and gala events featuring over 60 premier culinary partners, offering guests a chance to savor the best of Southern California cuisine alongside world-class cinema.
