The track sees the Benin City-born musician continue the style that has contributed to his growing popularity, combining melodic Afrobeats elements with his distinctive lyrical approach.
“I’m on a different level now and I’m protective of that,” Shallipopi said. “‘Allergies’ is me saying some people, some vibes, I just can’t have around me. I’ve earned that. Pluto doesn’t accept everything.”
The release comes after AURACLE, which featured collaborations with several international and African artists, including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Gunna, Swae Lee, Pa Salieu and Rauw Alejandro.
According to information released alongside the single, Shallipopi has accumulated more than 440 million streams over the past year, reinforcing his position among a new generation of Afrobeats artists gaining international recognition.
The artist first gained widespread attention with the single Elon Musk before releasing his debut album Planet Pluto. He was later named a VEVO DSCVR Artists to Watch selection and featured among Spotify Africa’s top 10 artists in its 2024 Wrapped campaign.
One of his most successful releases, Cast, featuring Odumodublvck, recorded significant streaming success and spent 13 consecutive weeks at number three on the UK Afrobeats Chart.
His latest album, AURACLE, also included appearances from Young Jonn and further expanded his international profile through tracks such as ‘Laho’, ‘Like That’ and ‘Him’.
