Nine Entertainment and News Corp are poised to sign a new contract to print newspapers across the country, guaranteeing the printed product for at least another five years even as news outlets shift their focus to online.
In 2020, the normally fierce competitors Nine, News Corp and Antony Catalano’s regional news company Australian Community Media signed a deal to consolidate their printing sites and save millions in the process. The term of that deal expired last week, according to two sources with knowledge of the agreement.
