Nine Inch Nails kicked off the Winter 2026 North American leg of their acclaimed “Peel It Back” tour on Thursday night at New Orleans’ Smoothie King Center. The industrial legends sported a new look from the tour’s previous legs, unveiling Stu Brooks as their new touring bassist.
Brooks has worked with Dominic Fike, Danny Elfman, Perry Farrell, Matisyahu, and others. He takes over for Alessandro Cortini, who had been with the band since 2005, with no reason given for his departure.

Prior to taking the stage with NIN, Brooks told Bass Magazine, “I’m feeling excited! It’s such a huge honor to play with these musicians and have this opportunity.”

The 2025 run of the “Peel It Back” tour earned universal praise, with Consequence naming NIN our Live Act of the Year. The show in New Orleans featured the same setup as the 2025 legs, with a main stage and intimate B-stage, but added a couple new highlights to the 21-song setlist.
Trent Reznor (wearing a white outfit this time around) and company mixed things up by opening with Pretty Hate Machine‘s “Something I Can Never Have,” giving the song its tour debut (along with a snippet of Depeche Mode’s “Stripped”), and then following that up with the rarity “Non-Entity,” performed for the first time since 2009.
The rest of the set was similar to variations the band played last year, featuring classics like “Wish” and “Closer” (with opening act Boys Noize), along with set closers “Head Like a Hole” and “Hurt.”
NIN’s winter tour runs through a March 16th show in Sacramento, California, with tickets available here. The band will also play two sets at Coachella in April under the name Nine Inch Noize.
