North West, the 12-year-old daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, has been heavily criticized for wearing tattoos and piercings in recent social media posts
Kim Kardashian has kept her latest fashion campaign in the family, including her pre-teen daughter North West in the latest SKIMS holiday ad.
Kim, 45, cast her 12-year-old daughter, North, in her newest holiday SKIMS ads, ahead of the fashion brand’s collection release on November 20. In the ad campaign, North can be seen without the recent tattoos or piercings she’s been wearing, but the child instead sported long blue-tinted braids and a North nameplate necklace.
The tattoos and piercings North had been spotted wearing appeared to be temporary updates, worn only for fun with her friends. Instead, North, who is the daughter of rapper Kanye West and Kim, beamed for the camera with a fresh-faced look as she stood in front of a festive scene.

In the past, North has modelled for SKIMS, but the last time was in 2020 with mom Kim and sister Chicago. This time, she appears to be a solo star, wearing a black tracksuit with a bear motif that bears the ‘SKIMS’ name.
The new campaign is also to launch the collaboration between SKIMS and fashion label Cactus Plant Flea Market. Sharing the images on Instagram, Kim wrote, “North West for Cactus Plant Flea Market × SKIMS, launching November 20 at 12 PM ET.”
Fans have been quick to comment on the youth’s modelling work, as well as her own family. Auntie Khloe Kardashian wrote, “Yesssssssss.” Fans have flooded the post with heart and fire emojis to show their support for North and for Kim.
The campaign doesn’t solely feature North, but also sees the fashion label teaming up with rapper Ken Carson, singers Mariah the Scientist and Beabadoobee, influencer Madeline Argy, and stylist-designer Veneda Carter, along with her daughter, Bobbi.
North’s recent dabble with tattoos and piercings has drawn controversy, with many hitting out at mom Kim for allowing her daughter to dress that way.
However, Kim has defended the decision to let North experiment as she said her eldest child wore the tats and piercings for fun with her friends and they could not understand the controversy.
Speaking to Complex, Kim explained, “I mean, this whole thing about how horrible it is and it’s disturbing. And she was like, ‘I don’t get it. It’s like a Halloween costume. It’s all fake.’ So she takes my phone and she writes back to a comment and she goes, ‘This is such a non-issue.'”
