Reports suggest the Obamas may be behind Cheryl Hines’s potential exclusion from reuniting with her longtime TV spouse, Larry David.
It was recently announced that the comedian and writer would be developing a fresh HBO comedy series celebrating America’s 250th anniversary next year, with the former President and First Lady serving as executive producers. The program will feature six half-hour installments, and it’s anticipated that numerous stars from Larry’s Emmy-winning hit, Curb Your Enthusiasm, will come together again on set. Nevertheless, sources disclosed to The Daily Mail that Cheryl could be excluded from the project due to her marriage to Trump’s Health and Human Services Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Insiders alleged that Barack and Michelle Obama, whose Higher Ground production company will be behind the series, are “vehemently opposed” to Cheryl’s involvement due to her political connections.
Without her ties to a Republican official, she would likely have been a “natural choice shoo-in” following her acclaimed portrayal as Larry’s character’s spouse throughout all 12 seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Under these conditions, Cheryl is confronting what another insider described as “the cancel culture wrath of her beloved Hollywood at the highest level of progressive political power.”
One source confided to Daily Mail, “The Obamas are adamant that anyone politically connected to Trump – who they despise – should not have a role in any of their lucrative media projects.”
They continued: “That clearly would include Cheryl. Worse for her in the Obamas’ eyes – and Larry’s, too – she dropped her affiliation with the Democrat Party and calls herself an Independent and has an amicable friendship with Donald Trump.”
The resistance to RFK Jr. is quite ironic since, according to Politico, in 2008, then-President-elect Barack Obama had contemplated the politician for a cabinet role as EPA administrator.
Given that Larry would serve as an executive producer and star in the forthcoming series, he could overrule his partners and bring on Cheryl; however, that scenario appears highly unlikely.
