OGUNQUIT, Maine — Ogunquit Pride will once again take center stage this June, with a full week of events planned from Monday, June 1, through Sunday, June 7, to celebrate the town’s LGBTQ+ community and its long history as an inclusive destination.

The festivities begin June 1 at MaineStreet Ogunquit, which will host a Pride flag‑raising and community barbecue from 5 to 7 p.m.

Throughout the week, entertainment venues across town will offer drag shows, live music, karaoke, and LGBTQ+ film screenings.

Pride happy hour at M.C. Perkins Cove, art exhibit and more

The weekend kicks off Friday, June 5, in Perkins Cove, where businesses will host a series of Pride‑themed events.

The afternoon begins with the unveiling of Meredith Reynells’ “Love is Love” art exhibit at Maine Art Collective at 4 p.m. The show honors diversity and inclusion within and beyond the LGBTQ+ community.

Additional activities include a Pride happy hour at M.C. Perkins Cove, a book signing at Perkins Cove Book Shop, and special sales at Perkins Cove Pottery Shop and Kiki’s.

Pride flag-raising ceremony, Picnic in the Park

The town’s signature Pride flag‑raising ceremony will be held Saturday, June 6, at 10:30 a.m. at Veterans Park.

Emceed by Blake of Maine’s Coast 93.1, the event will feature speakers, music, and the raising of the Pride flag, followed by a parade to Dorothea Jacobs Grant Common. The procession will include vintage cars, music by the Ideal Maine Band, and community members carrying the River of Pride flag.

Celebrations continue at Grant Common with Picnic in the Park from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., featuring live music by Lee Ross and entertainment from DJ Don. LGBTQ+ vendors and allies will offer programs, products, and services, and food trucks will be on site.

Ogunquit businesses show their pride

On Sunday, June 7, Nikanos Mediterranean Bar & Grille will once again host its popular Drag Brunch at noon.

Additional Pride‑themed events will take place throughout June, including a Pride Dinner at Perkins Cove Kitchen on Friday from 4 to 9 p.m., a Pride Brunch there on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a Pride Pool Party at the Abalonia Inn on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.

The Ogunquit Chamber of Commerce is also expanding its outreach this year, inviting all local businesses — members and non‑members — to share their Pride‑related plans in the spirit of communitywide inclusion.

Ogunquit Pride is supported by title sponsor Kennebunk Savings Bank; premier sponsors Village Food Market, Dunes on the Waterfront, Perkins Cove Bookshop, and Beach Bum Threads; associate sponsors Ogunquit Playhouse and Bangor Savings Bank; and supporting sponsors including Aland Realty, Backyard Coffeehouse, Crew Ogunquit, Edward Jones/Jackie Pampinella, MaineStreet Ogunquit, Nikanos, Ogunquit Rental Properties, and Sweet Pea’s Ice Cream.
