Sarah Ferguson’s friends are concerned for the former duchess after she confessed her dramatic fall from grace has not been “good for my mental health”, according to reports.
Fergie, who has been turfed out of Royal Lodge with ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, has reportedly been “crying several times each day” and is at her wits’ end worrying about “what the future holds”.
According to a source, the 66-year-old told those close to her that losing her titles and royal accommodation was having a detrimental impact on her wellbeing.
She is also alleged to have said King Charles and Prince William were “out for blood in every way” as she becomes increasingly ostracised from the Royal Family.
“She’s on a knife edge and bursting out crying several times a day. She’s really not sure what the future holds,” a source close to the former Duchess of York told the Daily Mail.
Fergie and Andrew, who have lived rent-free at Royal Lodge since 2008, have been given a deadline to leave the Grade II listed mansion by January 31.
Removal vans have been seen travelling to and from the property as the disgraced exes prepare to go their separate ways for the first time in nearly 20 years.
Andrew will move to Marsh Farm on the Sandringham estate, but it is still unknown where Fergie will end up.
To make matters worse, Princess Eugenie is reportedly distancing herself from her parents over the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, and is encouraging her sister Princess Beatrice to do the same.
The sisters are said to be “horrified” that their parents not only had ties to the convicted paedophile, but also invited him to some of their milestone moments.
“They’re horrified that their mum and dad exposed them to such a dangerous criminal and even welcomed Epstein into their lives, inviting him to Beatrice’s 18th birthday when a warrant was out for his arrest,” a source told Woman’s Day.
“Eugenie has always been more cautious than Beatrice when it came to trusting new people, but dealing with a cascade of lies from their own mum and dad is devastating.”
While Eugenie, 35, has reportedly taken a firm stance against her parents, Beatrice, 37, is “trying to walk the fine line of not cutting her father off and yet remaining close with the Royal Family”.
However, it is claimed that Beatrice pulled out of letting Fergie rent the newly-renovated granny flat on her Cotswolds estate in a bid to save face with the royals.
“Beatrice knows for the sake of her kids her future lies with the royals and it’s why she backed out of renting her mum their granny flat,” a source told the Daily Mail.
“She has to put her own reputation first and give their kids a respectable chance at life.”
