The who’s who of Nollywood and the music industry recently converged at the Filmhouse IMAX Cinema in Lekki, Lagos for the glamorous premiere of ‘Love and New Notes,’ a film directed by Kayode Kasum.
The event was a dazzling celebration of Nigerian cinema, drawing a powerhouse crowd of notable actors, media personalities, and influencers.
Adding to the night’s electric atmosphere, the dress code encouraged a stylish nod to the 1980s, with guests arriving in a vibrant mix of classic native attire and vintage foreign blazers.
Leading the charge of stars on the red carpet were music mogul Don Jazzy, reigning box-office queen Funke Akindele, actor Lateef Adedimeji, and street-pop sensation Lil Kesh.
‘Love and New Notes,’ inspired by the love and crime themes of the 1980s, promises audiences more than just nostalgia.
It is a deeply human story that explores the intricate themes of love, choice, and consequence, delving into the complex realities and difficult decisions that shape relationships.
The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including l Eniola Badmus, Timini Egbuson, Odunlade Adekola Akinyoola ‘Kamo State’ Ayoola, Sophie Alakija, Toluwani George, Constance Owoiyomi, and Iyiola Elvis.
Speaking at the premiere, Timini said: “Seeing people laugh, feel, and truly connect with the story reminded us why we made this film in the first place. ‘Love and New Notes’ is a film from the heart, and we cannot wait for more people to experience it in cinemas”.
On his part, Kasum shared his vision for the project, emphasising the collaborative spirit behind it.
“This project was built on honesty, emotion, and collaboration. Watching the audience experience the film together for the first time was incredibly special. We created ‘Love and New Notes’ to spark conversations about love, growth, and the choices that shape us,” he said.
‘Love and New Notes’ is produced by Muyiwa Idowu, co-produced by FilmOne Studios and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment & FilmTribe Media.
