Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been stripped of his royal titles and banished to the Sandringham Estate following new revelations about his links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. And since his arrest in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office, he has had very little contact with members of the Royal Family.
The King has kept his distance and even his two daughters have not paid Andrew a visit. But on the Easter weekend, while they were staying on the Sandringham estate, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh popped in to visit the former Duke of York.
Edward and Sophie chatted with Andrew over dinner, as the family are understood to be concerned for the disgraced royal’s wellbeing.
Discussing the meeting, a source told the Daily Mail: “It’s true to say they both feel sorry for Andrew and how far he has fallen and they are worried about his fragile state of mind.
“They do feel for him, but of course that doesn’t excuse his behaviour. It’s a difficult balancing act supporting him while not condoning what he has got involved with.
“Andrew still maintains [he] has not done anything wrong and thinks he will be vindicated one day but I think Edward will have tried to talk some sense into him and made it clear his days as a working royal are over.”
Princess Anne is also said to share Edward’s concerns about their brother, though they are resolute that he should not appear in public with the Royal Family
But what do you think? Should the Royal Family completely cut off Andrew and cease all contact? Or are they right to keep in touch and ensure he’s ok, given that he’s all alone in his new house, Marsh Farm.

Andrew, 66, features over 2,000 times in the latest tranche of files, including images apparently showing him on all fours over an unidentified woman lying flat on the floor.
The damning files also expose the former prince’s claim that he cut ties with Epstein in December 2010 as false.
The former prince denies all wrongdoing over his friendship with Epstein.
