Barry Keoghan has really embraced his upcoming role as Beatles great Ringo Starr.
The Irish actor is set to play the legendary drummer in the highly anticipated anthology film series, The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event – and he gave fans a taste of what’s to come during the London premiere of his new movie, Crime 101.

Despite attending the premiere for the unrelated crime thriller starring Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry, Keoghan turned up to the photo call rocking the Ringo Starr-inspired, mop-top hairstyle.
Decked in a leather jacket and matching pants at Leicester Square, the 33-year-old undeniably resembled the iconic musician from his early days with the Beatles.
The look is quite the departure for the Saltburn star, who usually sports a clean-cut look with shorter brunette locks.
The upcoming anthology is the first time the Beatles have granted full rights to their music and life story for a scripted film series, which is produced by Sony Pictures and directed by Sam Mendes.
Filming was underway in November last year and is due to continue throughout 2026 as the cast and crew endeavour to film all four movies at once before it will be released simultaneously in 2028.
Each film in the series will centre on a different member of the beloved British rock band.
Alongside Keoghan are Harris Dickinson who plays John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Gladiator II star Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney.
Other confirmed cast members include Little Women actress Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney and Shogun star Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono.
When talk of Keoghan’s casting first made headlines in December 2024, Starr gave the actor his stamp of approval.
“I think it’s great,” the beloved musician told Entertainment Tonight at the time “I believe he’s somewhere taking drum lessons. I hope not too many!”
Last year just before filming began, Keoghan teased that he looked great in costume as Starr.
“I look amazing,” he said on BBC’s Radio 1 Breakfast show in July. “I’m not even messing – I look amazing. I look more Ringo than Ringo looks Ringo.”
The pair have since met in person and Keoghan said it was more nerve-racking than he had anticipated.
“I met him at his house, and he played the drums for me,” the actor shared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last year. “He asked me to play, but I wasn’t playing the drums for Ringo.”
“And when I was talking to him, I couldn’t look at him,” he added. “I was nervous, like right now. But he’s like, ‘You can look at me.’”
The Beatles formed in 1960 and went on to become the best-selling musical act of all time. Hailed as on one of the most influential groups in the world, the foursome have a whopping 18 UK number one singles and 16 UK number one albums.
They went their separate ways in 1970 after the release of thir 12th studio album, Let It Be.
