“Never again,” says one tv family.
The cast of TLC’s reality show “Polyfamily” announced that they are leaving television for good after just one season on the network.
Taya Hartless, one of the four adults featured in the polyamorous reality show, delivered the unfortunate news to fans.
The announcement came about during a TikTok exchange over the weekend when fans inquired about a possible second season.
Hartless’ heartless response was quite blunt, where she told viewers to go “[expletive] yourselves,” before dropping the big news that confirmed the family’s decision in her caption.
“This just in: we’re NEVER doing reality TV again,” Hartless wrote in a social media post.
Though the family is exiting from television, they plan to continue sharing their story on their own terms.
“To everyone who found us through the chaos and chose to stay, thank you. Your support has made all the difference through this journey. And don’t worry, we’ll keep sharing our story … but this time, we’re taking the mic,” Hartless detailed.
Fans flocked to the comments to express how they feel about the announcement.
“I loved your show! I kept looking when season 2 was coming out! But also don’t blame yall one bit! I’m sure editing was BRUTAL!,” one user wrote.
“TLC has always been trouble! nothing good ever comes from working them,” another added.
When many suggested that the network canceled the show, Taya Hartless was quick to dispel speculation.
“It wasn’t canceled, we don’t want to do it again,” Hartless clarified, making it clear that this was the family’s choice.
The series featured the unique family structure of four adults who formed what they named a “closed quad” polycule. The family consists of Taya Hartless and her husband Sean Hartless, along with his girlfriend Alysia Rogers and her husband Tyler Rogers, who is also Taya Hartless’ boyfriend. Their arrangement completes their quad relationship.
Both couples were married before forming their polycule. Since their closed family structure was created, they’ve since welcomed three children and have chosen not to know the children’s paternity.
