Popular country music group Chapel Hart is splitting up, at least for now, according to a post on its Instagram page.
The trio — Danica Hart, Devynn Hart and Trea Swindle — said the split is amicable, but it comes after Danica Hart made some troubling accusations in a July Facebook post that she has since deleted.
“Over the last few years, Chapel Hart has taken us places we never could have imagined,” the group wrote in the Instagram statement. “We have laughed, cried, grown, and stood on stages we used to dream about. More than anything, we have shared a bond that goes deeper than music, and that part will always remain. As we each step into news seasons in life, we have decided to press pause on Chapel Hart so we can explore other passions and dreams that have been calling to us individually. This is not a goodbye. It is a celebration of everything we have built and a step toward everything still to come.
“We kindly ask for the same love and support as we each walk our different paths,” the statement continued. “You can find Danica starting her journey at @thedanicahart while Dev and rea begin their next chapter at @magnoliarisingofficial.”
The trio rose to fame on “America’s Got Talent,” but Taste of Country reported that Danica wrote in July that she had been subjected to “physical violence and abuse,” and that she was being “pushed out of her band.”
“I and other members of our team have been subjected to physical violence and abuse,” she wrote per the outlet. “I am at the point of breaking.
“My intention was to fulfill the commitments and complete the agreed-upon dates, but given the circumstances, I no longer feel safe or supported to continue,” she added.
Also of interest, Taste of County said that Danica wrote that she told her management group that she wanted out due to “bad behavior and immorality going on that had no consequences or repercussions.”
She also wrote that the group already had “a press release typed up saying that break up is because I’m leaving … that’s not true.
“I really need an entertainment attorney or maybe a regular attorney.”
She later deleted the post and apologized for it, according to Taste of Country. Still, considering that, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out from here.
“Thank you for being part of this incredible ride,” the group closed its Instagram post this week. “The Chapel Hart story will always be a beautiful part of our lives, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for each of us.
“We want to celebrate the community we’ve built together, so as we finish playing our scheduled shows for the rest of the season, we hope that we get to see each and every one of you on the road!! We love and thank you for being a part of the congregation and we look forward to your continued support.”
