Portland, Ore. (KOIN) — A local non-profit organization is signaling a new era as it opens ‘The Off Beat,’ an all-ages music venue in North Portland.
‘Friends of Noise‘ says the new space on North Interstate Avenue will host concerts, professional development workshops and private events.
The hope is that ‘The Off Beat’ will provide a safer space where teens and music fans of all ages can thrive.
The non-profit’s executive director, André Middleton, and board member Vaughn Kimmons joined us on AM Extra to share what the venue means to the organization’s mission and the future of youth music.
