Prince Harry has reportedly urged Meghan Markle to adopt a more restrained approach as the couple seeks to rebuild relations with the British royal family following a reported meeting with King Charles III, according to Heat Magazine.
The report claims that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, met King Charles at Highgrove on July 10. Neither Buckingham Palace nor the Sussexes have publicly confirmed that such a meeting took place.
According to the publication, any future reconciliation with the royal family would depend on conditions reportedly set by King Charles and Prince William, including keeping private family discussions confidential, showing respect for senior members of the monarchy, and avoiding the use of royal titles for personal or commercial benefit.
Citing an unnamed source, Heat Magazine reported that Harry believes the couple has little choice but to accept those terms if they hope to restore family ties.
“As much as they don’t want to accept it, their only choice is to abide by the King’s terms if they want any hope of rebuilding the relationship,” the source was quoted as saying.
The source added that Harry had urged Meghan to avoid confrontation and approach the situation cautiously, believing the opportunity to repair relations may not come again.
The report further claimed that the couple is willing to set aside personal differences for the sake of their children’s future relationship with the royal family, although the publication suggested such a shift would require a significant adjustment for Meghan.
The claims have not been independently verified, and no official comment has been issued by Buckingham Palace or representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
