In the video, Kate Middleton and Prince William are met with a heckler, who brings up Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
Footage of the moment was shared on X, which shows the royals being heckled as they arrived at The Gothenburg pub in the village of Fallin. “How long have you known about Andrew and Epstein?” the heckler asked repeatedly, later adding, “Have you been covering up for Andrew?” See the tense moment for yourself:
Will and Kate have maintained a united front against the disgraced former Prince Andrew over the years, with Will reportedly pushing to have Andrew shunned from the royal family for his involvement with the sex offender.
After Buckingham Palace released an official statement announcing the decision to officially strip Andrew of his titles in October, many credited Will with persuading his father, King Charles, to take action. And when it was later announced that Andrew would be removed from Royal Lodge (where he lived rent-free for years), the Waleses were reportedly also behind the decision.
“William was the hand on his father’s back,” a family friend claimed at the time, per Vanity Fair. “He has been instrumental in the whole thing. Kate has been very firm, too. They both made it clear that Andrew cannot be anywhere near them in Windsor.”
On top of that, it seems things soured between Andrew and the Waleses even before his connection to Epstein came to light. As royal expert Ian Pelham Turner previously told Fox News, “When Kate came along in the arms of William and was protected by the other royals, it was like a red flag to a bull. Andrew always thought he should be king rather than Charles. There’s always been a festering envy for many years.”
He added, “It’s probably why William is now taking a very strong line against Andrew.”
