Prince Harry‘s departure from his life in the UK as a working royal has caused a lot of tension, but it seems that most of it still lies between him and his brother, Prince William.
A royal biographer recently came forward to reveal that the two brothers’ relationship “couldn’t be worse right now.” The news didn’t come long after headlines and reports had been released that King Charles II was slowly working towards repairing his relationship with Harry, but things got especially bad between him and William after his memoir, Spare, was published. Royal Author Reveals Prince Harry & Prince William’s Relationship ‘Couldn’t Be Worse’
Over the last year, there’s been a lot of rumors and whispers about members of the royal family reuniting, more specifically, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, returning to the UK to reconcile with other royals.
There have been reports that the dad-of-two and King Charles have met and are working on their relationship; however, it’s left many people wondering what that means for Harry and his brother, Prince William. Now, a royal author and biographer, Russell Myers, is chiming in to give an update on the two siblings after appearing on Hello! ‘s “A Right Royal Podcast.”
“Everything I’m told about that relationship is that it couldn’t be worse,” the author said. “It’s done. Maybe there is a time in the future.”
Prince William Reportedly Felt ‘Betrayed’ By Prince Harry After ‘Spare’ Was Published
Despite there being reports of rifts between the two princes ever since Harry departed the UK for California and stepped down from his royal duties, the royal expert notes that it was when his tell-all memoir, Spare, came out that things escalated to a new level.
In his new book, William and Catherine: The Monarchy’s New Era: The Inside Story, which comes out next week, according to People, Meyers wrote, “William was, according to several sources, absolutely seething.”
“He felt betrayed by Harry to the extent that he vowed never to speak to him again,” he continued. “Such was his anger that he told one of his most trusted aides that he had ‘absolutely no time to entertain either of them [Harry and Meghan].’ At first, he [William] was incredibly angry. The situation had spiraled out of control, but the book [Spare] reinforced his view that [Harry] was not to be trusted. [William] was incredibly let down and immensely sad, but in a way it made him more determined to rally around his own family and his father.”
In addition to feeling ‘betrayed’ by his brother, Meyers noted that with everything else going on in his family’s personal lives, the future king is not prioritizing making up with his brother.
“There is an awful lot going on,” he added during his podcast appearance. “I mean, William and Catherine have got three young children. [Prince] George is going to start secondary school. They are absolutely worried about the king’s future health—I mean, he’s doing absolutely great now, is still having treatment, and Catherine’s just come out of her own treatment.”
