Prince Harry appears to be trying to mend his relationship with the royal family, having recently spent time with King Charles for the first time in 19 months.
One person who doesn’t seem open to a reconciliation, however, is Harry’s brother Prince William. Neither the Prince of Wales nor his wife Kate Middleton were anywhere to be seen when Harry met with his father.
Amid the tension, royal expert Daisy McAndrew suggested William won’t be happy his brother met with the King during his recent UK trip.
McAndrew suggested the feud is an “ongoing problem” as she pointed out William “doesn’t want anything to do with Harry.”
Appearing on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, the expert continued, “My impression is he doesn’t feel comfortable with this rift being fixed and he, I don’t think, would have wanted this meeting to have gone ahead.”
“He might suddenly come and live here permanently, Harry, and then we’ll be saying, oh, that’d be brilliant,” Edwards suggested.
Despite this, he warned the meeting between Harry and Charles is just the start of a long process if the Duke of Sussex hopes to end the royal family feud.
Harry spent some time in the UK earlier this week, during which he spent 55 minutes with the King at Clarence House. When later asked about his father, Harry replied, “He’s great, thank you.”
A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex said he “loved” his time being back in the UK.
“He’s obviously loved being back in the U.K., catching up with old friends, colleagues, and just generally being able to support the incredible work of the causes that mean so much to him,” the spokesperson told People Magazine.
