Princess Kate dazzled today as she made a new appearance in London alongside the rest of the Royal Family. The Princess of Wales joined the King and Queen, her eldest son, Prince George, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and other members of the Royal Family at the Royal Albert Hall for the annual Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance.
The King led his family into the event, having been appointed Patron of the Royal British Legion the previous year. The Princess looked beautiful in a black dress by Alessandra Rich and the HMS Glasgow Brooch.
She paired the look with a glittering pair of pearl earrings and a handmade poppy by Izzy Ager of Lock & Co. Her earrings hold significant meaning as they used to belong to the late Queen Elizabeth.
The Bahrain Pearl Drop Earrings were gifted to Kate by the late monarch on her wedding day.
They are said to be crafted from a shell containing seven pearls and were originally given to Elizabeth as a wedding gift by the ruler of Bahrain in 1947.
Kate has sported the stunning piece of jewellery on several occasions, including Prince Philip’s funeral in 2021 and again in 2022 for the late Queen’s funeral.
Kate also wore the earrings at last year’s Remembrance Day service in London.
According to expert Laura Taylor, who is a jeweller at Lorel Diamonds, the Bahrain Pearl Earrings would be valued “at upwards of £20,000.”
This year, the Festival of Remembrance commemorates the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
It also marks the 25th anniversary of the UK Government lifting the ban on gay, lesbian, and bisexual personnel serving openly in the Armed Forces and reflects on past discrimination, while celebrating the progress made since 2000.
