Queen Camilla was the latest high-profile figure to embrace the polka dot trend. The queen consort wore a polka dot dress by one of her go-to designers, Fiona Clare, during her royal engagements throughout England on Tuesday.
While out visiting charities and organizations in Truro and Newquay, England, Queen Camilla wore a long-sleeve polka dot midi dress in a dark base fabric with white polka dots throughout. The dress also featured bold colorblocking, with a white collar and front placket that ran down the dress to the waistline.

The Fiona Clare frock featured subtle details, including slightly puffy sleeves and a flowing skirt, a silhouette that Queen Camilla tends to gravitate toward. The queen consort complemented her look with a pair of beige pumps courtesy of Eliot Zed.
As for accessories, Queen Camilla, who often wears sentimental pieces and even nostalgic brooches for public outings, opted for simple staple pieces. She wore an intertwined heart pendant necklace along with her signature Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet.
Queen Camilla’s latest look falls in line with the resurgence of the polka dot trend. Over the course of the last several months, celebrities across the pond have styled polka dot pieces, revitalizing the sartorial pattern motif.
Julia Garner wore an asymmetrical, one-shoulder polka dot dress from Gucci’s cruise 2026 collection the “Weapons” premiere in July. In May, Sarah Jessica Parker opted for a design from Luisa Beccaria‘s fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection for her appearance on “Good Morning America” to promote the final season of “And Just Like That…”
The polka dot pattern has a spotty history that dates back centuries, from suspicion of disease to the refinement and precision of industrial-grade manufacturing. By the 20th century, polka dots were a sought-after pattern.
Film stars like Katharine Hepburn wore the pattern, and years prior in the 1920s, the introduction of the character Minnie Mouse, with her red and white polka dot dress, made the pattern a mainstay. Though the popularity of the polka dot pattern has ebbed and flowed, it’s nonetheless remained a classic staple.
