Quentin Tarantino Reveals Which of His Iconic Movies He Was ‘Born to Make’ originally appeared on Parade.
Quentin Tarantino is proud of many of his films, though he revealed that he was “born to make” the 2003 film Kill Bill.
While appearing on the August 15 episode of the “Church of Tarantino” podcast, the iconic director, 62, spoke to host Reverend Scott Kraushaar about his most memorable movies.
“I think Kill Bill is the ultimate Quentin movie, like nobody else could’ve made it. Every aspect about it is so particularly ripped, like with tentacles and bloody tissue, from my imagination and my id and my loves and my passion and my obsession,” Tarantino said.
Kill Bill follows a former assassin (Uma Thurman) who wreaks vengeance on the team of assassins who betrayed her after she woke up from a four-year coma. Following the success of Kill Bill: Vol. 1, Tarantino reunited with many of the original cast members for the 2004 sequel Kill Bill: Vol. 2.
Tarantino made the comment about Kill Bill after he determined that Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is his “favorite” movie that he’s made, while Inglourious Basterds is his “best.”

“So I think Kill Bill is the movie I was born to make, I think Inglourious Basterds is my masterpiece, but Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is my favorite,” he said.
Tarantino also revealed which of his films features his best screenwriting. “I think Inglourious Basterds is my best script, and I think Hateful Eight and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood are right behind,” he said.
“There’s an aspect of Hateful Eight that I actually think is probably my best directing of my material — the material is written and it’s solid,” he explained. “So it’s not like I have to create it, like Kill Bill, it’s solid, it’s right there and I actually think it’s my best servicing [of] my material as a director.”
