Randolph Mantooth, best known as firefighter-paramedic John Gage on NBC’s Emergency!, died at 80 after a years-long cancer battle, marking the death of the longtime television actor.The Hollywood Reporter confirmed Randolph Mantooth’s death with his brother, Donald Mantooth. TMZ reported the Emergency! star who portrayed John Gage had throat cancer first and later a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.He died peacefully on Thursday, July 9, at a Ventura, California, hospice facility, his brother told TMZ.In August 2015, Mantooth wrote on Facebook that he had completed treatment following an initial cancer diagnosis.Credits include Alex Masters on Loving and The City, Hal Munson on As the World Turns, Killer Holiday (2013), and two Sons of Anarchy episodes. He starred in Emergency! with Kevin Tighe.
