Is Taylor Swift’s New Song “I Knew It, I Knew You” Country?

It’s official: Raye’s sophomore album is coming this year. The British singer and ELLE cover star has announced that after much anticipation, her new LP, This Music May Contain Hope, is coming this spring. And it’ll arrive just before her U.S. tour dates.

This marks the pop star’s follow-up to her studio debut My 21st Century Blues, which landed in 2023 and gave us viral hits like “Escapism.” If her next project is anything like the last, it’s sure to have many more tracks that’ll take over the airwaves. Here’s what to know.

When will the album be released?

This Music May Contain Hope will be released on March 27, 2026.

Which songs are on the album?

The exact tracklist has not yet been confirmed, but it’ll have 17 songs, including her smash hit, “Where Is My Husband!” according to a listing for the album on her website.

It’ll also have a unique format. According to a press release, This Music May Contain Hope is “set in 4 ‘seasons’ with each side of the vinyl being a different season, [and] takes listeners on a sonic journey that begins with darkness and ends with light.”

As Raye told ELLE, the intro is titled “Girl Under the Gray Cloud,” and the first track is called “I Will Overcome.” She described the latter as “big and dramatic, and unapologetically so.” She added, “There’s a lyric in there that says, ‘Aren’t we all broken people?’ We just perfect how to hide it. But it’s life’s guarantee that we’re all going to die. So am I going to live like this all of my life? I’m not okay right now, but I’ll get there somehow. I’ll overcome.”

What has Raye said about the album?

The singer said in a statement, “Music is medicine, I’ve always said that. I guess I’m in the process of making medicine for myself that I can share with the world. I want us all to say to ourselves that it’s going to be all right, and I’m going to have faith in the seeds that I’ve planted beneath the snow. I wanted to create something that is a hug, bed, or soft place for that person who needs it.”

Prior to the announcement, Raye heavily teased the work in her cover story for ELLE’s February 2026 issue. The album starts in the “real thick of that lonely place,” she told the magazine, and it’s told from a third-person perspective.

“She tells me that it starts in autumn and moves through all four seasons—the narrative arc mirroring her own personal growth, the culmination of the self-work she’s done to right her ship in the last year or so,” deputy editor and features director Kayla Webley Adler, who interviewed Raye, reported in the story.

The first chapter, “Autumn,” representing that season, is said to be about quick fixes. “There’s this thing in society about other things being able to fix us. Love is number one, like, ‘Find love and everything’s going to be okay.’ Or ‘Drink this wine and everything’s going to be okay,’” Raye told ELLE. “But actually, the most beautiful lesson that I’ve been learning is self-love, which is so hard. My gosh, being able to spend an evening with yourself, just you, is humbling.

The lyrics are a little more grounded here than in Raye’s previous album. “A lot of My 21st Century Blues, I was up in the clouds, rolling a blunt,” she said. “I like that I’ve come down to earth to write these lyrics. I prefer myself like this. I’ve found discipline and abstinence in my life, and it’s a beautiful thing. I’ll have a nice glass of wine every now and then, but I’m no longer drinking to fix or bury or numb or escape.”

This story will be updated.
