If you’ve ever seen a cow chewing cud, it might remind you of something, or someone, you know. That’s exactly what happened to Sophie (@sophjkett87), whose hilarious observation turned her short clip of a cow lazily chewing away into a viral hit.
The video is only about six seconds long and shows a cow lying in the grass, happily chewing its cud. But the real comedy comes from the overlay Sophie added to the video, and the perfectly matched sound byte she used with it. You’ll want your sound on for this one because we all know someone who chews just like that!
Sophie’s video is so relatable and so is her joke about the cow chewing with her mouth open! We watched the video at least five times and laughed every time!

Commenters Totally Related to Sophie’s Joke
Sophie’s video quickly went viral, with more than 11 million views and nearly 8,000 comments. @keaamari1 said, “And they always like to talk while they eat…” @Kliever Fam admitted, “I married it…..” @Mmago Sesi jokingly asked, “How many times did you listen to this while reading comments?!” @SHA SHA added, “That is a pet peeve of mine. It makes my skin crawl!! Omg I had to mute just to comment because it was getting to me. My youngest can’t stand it either!”
People could totally relate when @Omo Bello shared, “It immediately causes me to be angry before I’m even annoyed.” @Leyla Hajrovic added, “I found my people.” @SAMMY made us all laugh when she said, “Nice to meet you, cellmate.”
Commenter @Tridiver pointed out, “Misophonia is a very real thing.” Wikipedia defines misophonia: “Misophonia (or selective sound sensitivity syndrome) is a disorder of decreased tolerance to specific sounds or their associated stimuli, or cues. These cues, known as “triggers”, are experienced as unpleasant or distressing and tend to evoke strong negative emotional, physiological, and behavioral responses not seen in most other people.”
We might not have misophonia, but one thing’s for sure: there isn’t a single person in the world who actually enjoys hearing this particular sound!
