English rock and pop legend Morrissey is slated to play a pair of shows in Pennsylvania this week, just days after cancelling his weekend slate do to a “credible threat” to his life.

He is scheduled to play Sept. 23 at The Met Philadelphia and Sept. 25 at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts in Pittsburgh.

This comes after he made the announcement that he was cancelling his weekend shows on his Instagram account hours before he was slated to play at the Foxwoods in Connecticut on Friday. He was scheduled to play the MGM Music Hall in Boston on Saturday but that show was cancelled as well.

“Due to recent events and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and band, the upcoming shows this weekend at Foxwoods and MGM Music Hall have been cancelled,” a message on his social media account read.

Rolling Stone said another post on his Instagram page read, “In recent days, there has been a credible threat on Morrisey’s life. Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and audience, tonight’s engagement at Foxwoods has been cancelled. We appreciate your understanding.”

Rolling Stone noted that the MGM Music Hall also noted that a “credible threat” had been made against Morrissey in announcement that the show has been cancelled. Rolling Stone said this all comes weeks after Noah Castellano, a 26-year-old Ottawa man was arrested and charged with “threats to cause death or bodily harm” for threats it said he made to Morrissey on Blue Sky.

Rolling Stone reported that Castellano is accused of posting under an account called “guy who gets shot in the head one hundred thousand times a day,” and wrote, “Steven Patrick Morrissey when you perform at TD Place here in Ottawa next week on the evening of September 12th, 2025 at about 9 p.m., I will be present at the venue in the audience and I will attempt to shoot you many times and kill you with a very large gun that I own legally.”

Rolling Stone said that Morrissey performed the show in Ottawa, and that Castellano made his $5,000 bail and is “mandated to live at the Washington, DC area home of his father.”
