Romeo’s brother Cruz has revealed how his sibling wants to live in LA, which comes after details of his debut film emerge
Romeo Beckham is eyeing up a move to Los Angeles as he pursues his acting dream. The 23-year-old, who used to live in America, when his dad David played for LA Galaxy, has already shot movie Forty Love.
And now brother Cruz let slip he is looking to live there permanently. In a YouTube tour diary for his band, Cruz said: “I know you want to live in LA so I hope that can happen.” A move to Hollywood would make sense as Romeo sets his sights on other movie projects. It would also mean he is in the same city as his estranged brother Brooklyn, whose wife Nicola is also an actor.
Romeo’s acting debut was announced earlier this week. Directed by renowned fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti, the story revolves around Sacha Gallo, a tennis superstar who’s been training with his father to win a major trophy. A fellow player – played by Romeo – then appears on the scene, with the pair falling in love.
“For the first time, he faces an opponent of an entirely different nature – love,” the synopsis for the film reads. “A force as exhilarating as it is destabilizing – and far more dangerous than anything he has encountered on the court.”
He stars opposite Paul Kircher, Guillaume Canet and Benjamin Voisin with an appearance from Catherine Deneuve. Dad David has also tried his hand at acting. He was famously given a cameo in Guy Ritchie’s Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur several years ago.
At the time, he said he was ready to face criticism for his foray into Hollywood. He said: “I am very aware that many sportsmen and other celebrities have turned their hand to acting and failed.
“I know it is a tough profession, where you need a huge amount of skill and discipline. I wouldn’t want to push myself forward too soon, without learning more about it and doing a lot more practice. But what I have done so far, I have loved. I can deal with most things. I am a well-known person, so I have gotten used to criticism. It was nerve-racking delivering the lines, but it actually went really well. The thing about sport is that it gets the heart beating faster. You focus the mind in order to deliver. Acting has a similar feel.”
