A royal expert has revealed that Prince William could ‘punish’ Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with a major move. There are rumors that Prince William could strip the couple of their royal titles. This news comes right in the middle of much-talked-about family reconciliation talks.
Recently, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex traveled to the U.K. for a private meeting on July 10, 2026. They met with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House along with their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Even though the family spent time together, the peace between Harry and William did not happen, according to Reality Tea.
Host Questions Prince William’s Appetite to Strip Titles
This debate deepened during a recent episode of the Daily Expresso podcast. Host JJ Anisiobi spoke with royal commentator Sarah Hewson about the ongoing royal family drama. The host suggested that Prince William has a much bigger “appetite to strip” Harry and Meghan of their official titles than King Charles does.
In 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan walked away from their roles as senior working royals. They built an independent life in Montecito, California. After their move, the couple focused on private business projects.
Over the years, many painful arguments have made the fight between the two brothers even worse. Before Harry arrived for his U.K. visit, many reports revealed that King Charles truly hoped that his two sons would finally make peace.
Moreover, since their visit, many details have come out about their recent private reunion at Highgrove House. The gathering was kept very small. Only Prince Harry, Meghan, King Charles, and Queen Camilla were there. Surprisingly, the Prince and Princess of Wales did not attend the meeting.
During the podcast, Anisiobi asked if King Charles wanted to take away the Sussexes’ titles. The expert revealed, “You know, we have always been told it’s not in the King’s power. It takes an Act of Parliament. We’ve seen with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor that there are ways around this.”
She stated that she does not believe Charles wants to do this, as the King still hopes to bring his family back together.
However, the podcast host asked what might happen when William takes the throne. Hewson said that moment would be “a different ballgame.” The host then asked if the future king would use title removal to “punish” the couple. Hewson answered, “He could.”
But she also added a warning for the future king, asking, “Does he actually just need to be the bigger man, rise above it, and get on with the job? Because it’s going to be really tough job for him.”
The rules inside the royal family have changed completely over the last few years. The huge divide started after Harry and Meghan sat down for their famous interview with Oprah Winfrey.
