Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s siblings, Princess Anne and Prince Edward, think he is being treated harshly, a royal expert has claimed. It is said that the Princess Royal was particularly concerned about the stripping of Andrew’s princely title, but the King reportedly felt that he had “no alternative”, and the fallout from stories about Andrew’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein was doing too much incremental damage to the royals, according to a panellist on The Mail’s Palace Confidential podcast.
The Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Royal have a natural fraternal and sisterly concern, Richard Kay suggested, including about his mental health, and it is understood that they have voiced these worries. It is thought that Queen Camilla and Prince William, meanwhile, believed the King had not been harsh enough on Andrew.
But this view was disputed, as Richard Eden said he had been told that the Prince and Princess of Wales were concerned about Andrew’s mental health, and wanted to “make sure that he was okay”.
