GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Royals could not hold on to a 3-0 lead in a 4-3 shootout loss to Greensboro on Saturday at First Horizon Coliseum.
Zach Bannister, Austin Saint and Ben Meehan scored first period goals to stake Reading to an early advantage. The Gargoyles scored twice in the second and once in the third to tie the contest.
After a scoreless overtime, Greensboro outshot the Royals 2-1 in the shootout.
Reading continues their road trip on Friday at Wheeling.
