Ruby Rose is recovering after suffering “multiple” broken ribs in an incident at home.
The actress, 40, shared video camera footage of herself falling into her pool on Instagram Stories Tuesday, revealing she misjudged the ledge and slipped in. The side of Rose’s body hit a wall before she landed in the pool, and she held her ribs as she swam out of the water.
“That’s your girl!” Rose captioned the clip. “RIP to my ribs, and to the rest of my summer. They are broken, multiple. Straight to the hospital, did not pass go or collect 200 dollars.”
Rose shared further insight into the accident on Threads, writing, “One second I’m here talking to you. The next I’m in the ho[s]pital with two broken ribs. What a bloody Monday.”
She added that she now has “to breathe into a machine lol” after landing “perfectly on the right side of my ribs. Breaking the bottom two.”
“Not bloody worth it is it!,” Rose added in the comments after a follower shared their own story of cracked ribs in a pool incident. “Holy fire of hell!”

Rose first gained attention for her role in season 3 of the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, and for portraying Kate Kane, a.k.a. Batwoman, in the Arrowverse TV superhero franchise. She fronted the first season of the series Batwoman in 2019 before exiting the show.
Although she claimed she left due a back injury and the “taxing” job of leading a series, Warner Bros Television later alleged that Rose was let go from the series after “multiple complaints about her workplace behavior.” (She posted a series of allegations about unsafe working conditions on the Batwoman set ahead of Warner Bros statement in 2021.)
The former model and MTV Australia VJ has also appeared in films including XXX: Return of Xander Cage, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, John Wick: Chapter 2, Pitch Perfect 3, and The Meg.

As of late, she has been involved in a legal investigation after alleging that Katy Perry sexually assaulted her in a nightclub in Melbourne 16 years ago. In April, Rose responded to a Threads post by Complex Music Threads that mentioned Perry. The actress wrote, “Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s— what she thinks.”
Rose then detailed the alleged assault in various comments on the site.
Perry’s team strongly denied the claims as “dangerous, reckless lies” in a statement to EW.
“Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named,” the statement continued.
A representative for the Victoria Police confirmed to EW at the time that “Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) detectives are investigating a historical [alleged] sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010.”
The statement added that “police have been told the [alleged] incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne’s [central business district],” and that the “the investigation remains ongoing” as of Wednesday. “It would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.”
