Sachet-Parampara Bash Amaal Mallik Over Kabir Singh’s Bekhayali Song

Music duo Sachet and Parampara Tandon have ignited a major controversy after posting a lengthy video on Instagram, directly calling out composer Amaal Mallik for allegedly spreading ‘false and baseless’ allegations about their 2019 blockbuster track “Bekhayali” from Kabir Singh.

Known for chart-toppers like “Har Har Mahadev” and “Maiyya Mainu,” the couple described their upload as an ‘expose,’ writing: “Warning. This video could have been a 10-second proof to shut down all rumours, but exposing some people became important for our mental peace. @amaal_mallik SHAME ON YOU AMAAL MALIK.”

In the video, Sachet–Parampara addressed comments Amaal reportedly made claiming “Bekhayali” sounded similar to one of his older compositions. They firmly rejected this, stressing that the song was “entirely original,” crafted in brainstorming sessions with Shahid Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

The duo explained that they possess extensive communication logs with Amaal and the Kabir Singh team, which they say clearly demonstrate that every musical element; from melody to arrangement, emerged from those creative meetings. They also pointed out that, unlike Amaal, who had been associated with T-Series since 2015, they were total newcomers with no links to the label at the time. In response to Amaal’s suggestion that a tune may have been shared with them on WhatsApp, they asked, “Why would anyone favour us when we were complete outsiders?”

Adding to their argument, they displayed screenshots of Amaal’s old messages congratulating them on the success of “Bekhayali” and expressing that he had been “waiting” for the track. They noted they didn’t even have his number initially and that he was the one who reached out first. According to the duo, Amaal has been making claims publicly without any proof, while “misleading fans” and shifting blame onto the industry. They asserted that “Success comes from consistent hard work, not insider–outsider politics,” emphasising that all their work, including “Har Har Mahadev,” is completely original.

They concluded the video urging Amaal to issue a public apology, saying the allegations had harmed their professional image. They also cautioned that they were ready to move forward legally if the situation demanded it.
