SANTA CRUZ — The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk recently released its full schedule of summer entertainment, featuring a drone show later this month.
The summer entertainment calendar will kick off with a drone show above Main Beach May 16, a tradition started in 2025. The ideal viewing spot, according to a news release, is on the Boardwalk and Main Beach between the Giant Dipper and Undertow roller coasters.
“This summer at the Boardwalk will feature something fun for every member of the family,” said Boardwalk spokesperson Kris Reyes in the release. “Classic movies, great music, DJ dance parties, a drone show, and World Cup watch parties will create unforgettable summer memories that will last a lifetime.”
Free movie nights on the beach in front of the Boardwalk are also returning this year beginning June 12 and continuing every Friday through Aug. 7, with the exception of July 3. Movies include “The Lost Boys,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and “13 Going on 30.”
The Boardwalk will host a World Cup celebration with watch parties at Coasters Bar & Grill, soccer exhibitions on Main Beach and a live watch party on Main Beach for Team USA’s matchup against Turkey.
Evenings on the Colonnade at the Boardwalk’s Colonnade Stage begin June 15 and continue through Aug. 6 featuring live music, magicians, acrobats and a DJ dance party.
Mornings at the Arcade, where guests can play half-priced games at the Casino Arcade and Neptune’s Kingdom, and have breakfast at the Boardwalk Grille, starts June 15 and continues daily through Aug. 7.
