Sarah Ferguson is “on edge” over fresh humiliation as her eviction from the Royal Lodge nears. The former Duchess of York is rumoured to be moving into a small one-bedroom former cattle shed owned by her daughter, after she and Andrew were ordered to leave the 30-room mansion following fresh revelations about Andrew’s alleged ties to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
While it has been widely reported that disgraced Andrew will move into a cottage on the King’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk, the former Duchess’s plans have been kept under wraps. Now her friends have suggested she is “on edge” at the prospect of being made homeless, reports the Daily Mail.
Sources suggest that one option is for her to move in with her daughter, as preparations are underway to convert the ‘granny annexe’ located on the grounds of the £3.5million Oxfordshire mansion that Princess Beatrice owns with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, into a liveable space.
While the annexe was completed by the former owners, neighbours told the Mail on Sunday it has undergone a complete renovation, including stonework being repointed and gutters being replaced.
Upgrades reportedly include a full “renovation and rewiring”, new windows and a paint job. Last week, gas bottles for the cooker and fireplace were also allegedly delivered.
The small space is located across the courtyard from the main six-bedroom house, with its own entrance opposite a row of new-build bungalows.
A source told the Daily Mail: “It would be perfect for the former Duchess as it’s close to her daughter but also completely independent of the main house where Beatrice and Eduardo live.
“Sarah would be able to just walk a few yards and be an on-site baby sitter for Sienna who she simply adores and with Eugenie living in Portugal it makes perfect sense.”
The Cotswolds property lies on the edge of the Blenheim Palace estate – and is in the ‘golden triangle’ area of the Cotswolds where other famous residents include the Beckhams and Jeremy Clarkson.
Andrew has consistently denied all accusations against him.
