Fox News host Sean Hannity treated the audience to a Frank Sinatra sing-along to kick off Fox Nation’s Patriot Awards on Wednesday, butchering the lyrics in hopes of chasing away his “commie Mamdani blues.”
“Loosen up,” the Fox News primetime host told the black-tie room, before launching into his short rewrite of “New York, New York” — his mocking jibe at the city’s newly elected Democratic mayor Zohran Mamdani.
“I want to give you a 30-second version so I don’t ruin the night for some of you that still live in New York City. But I’m going to need your help because I can’t sing to save my life,” Hannity told the crowd.
The host planted the lyrics on giant screens behind him. Hannity promised a “small, little, itsy-bitsy sample,” before adding: “This is what Sean Hannity does at 2 o’clock in the morning and I wasn’t even drinking.”
The crowd obliged, singing along with the lyrics:
Start spreading the news, I’m leaving today, no longer want to be a part of it, high taxed New York. These commie Mamdani blues, are longing to leave, right to the very heart of it, bye bye New York.”

“All right, that’s enough,” he finally said.
Hannity, a former resident, left the Empire State in 2024, declaring he had moved to “the free state of Florida.”
