Shia LaBeouf has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery charges in connection with his alleged altercation at a New Orleans bar during Mardi Gras on Feb. 17.
After the 39-year-old actor pleaded guilty in a New Orleans courthouse on Wednesday, June 3, he received a sentence of two years’ probation, alcohol abuse rehabilitation, sensitivity training and anger management classes.
According to The Guardian, LaBeouf’s attorney Sarah Chervinsky said the investigation into the incident was “nothing more than a minor bar tussle,” denying that “bias” was involved.
The Transformers star, who has been repeatedly arrested in recent years, is now “looking forward to focusing on family, work and new creative projects,” she added.

LaBeouf was first arrested after the alleged confrontation and charged with two counts of simple battery, then was arrested again and charged with an additional misdemeanor count of simple battery in February.
In a hearing that month, the Honey Boy actor and writer was ordered to enroll in substance abuse treatment, undergo drug testing and post a $100,000 bond as conditions of his release. LaBeouf then posted bond.
According to a New Orleans Police Department report obtained by PEOPLE, the actor was allegedly ejected from a bar after causing a disturbance, striking one victim, leaving the scene and later returning to strike the same victim and assault a second person. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of unknown injuries; TMZ obtained video showing the shirtless actor receiving medical treatment from paramedics outside the bar.

One of the alleged victims told PEOPLE in February that he helped restrain LaBeouf until police arrived. He claimed the actor was “lunging at” patrons while also screaming homophobic slurs.
Hours after his release, LaBeouf was spotted partying on Bourbon Street while holding his jail release paperwork in his mouth. He later wrote “Free me,” on his X account.
