The Alien and Aliens star has weighed in on the acclaimed FX series, which brought the iconic sci-fi franchise to TV for the first time.
While the new series is heavily inspired by the first two films in the saga, Weaver seemed to most appreciate the ways in which the Noah Hawley series has moved the franchise into original territory — specifically, with the human-synthetic hybrid characters led by Wendy (Sydney Chandler), the film’s commentary on amoral tech company greed and generating new creatures beyond the xenomoprh.
“I’m really enjoying it,” she told People during an event promoting her upcoming film, Dust Bunny. “What I admire about it is the scope is so much more profound than just an Alien movie. It’s about our world and what’s dominating the world in 100 years, and to me it’s right on.
