Months after Celeste Rivas’s decomposed body was found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to D4vd, the TikTok singer has allegedly been named as a suspect in her death
D4vd has reportedly been named as a suspect in the death of missing 14-year-old Celeste Rivas, who was found dismembered in the trunk of a Tesla registered to the singer on September 8, just one day after what would have been her 15th birthday.
The car had apparently been abandoned after being parked in the Hollywood Hills for over a month. After it was impounded, Celeste’s remains were found in a bag inside of the vehicle’s front trunk. After over two months of investigating, sources have claimed that D4vd – whose real name is David Burke – is “being viewed as a suspect” in her death.
TMZ claimed “law enforcement sources with direct knowledge” confirmed this, and while there is no direct paperwork, their insider alleged, “Investigators are looking at D4vd as a suspect.”

The Mirror US has reached out to representatives for D4vd as well as the Los Angeles Police Department for comment.
Meanwhile, NBC4 Investigates reported that the teen, who had been missing for over a year, likely died in the spring. While her cause and manner of death have not been determined, it has been reported that her death is being treated as a homicide and that whoever is responsible for her death likely had help in dismembering and disposing of her body.
Celeste was reported missing last year and was last seen on April 5, 2024 before her body was found. D4vd, a singer-songwriter who rose to fame on TikTok, was on tour at the time, and subsequently canceled all remaining concert dates amid the gruesome discovery.
A search was conducted on his Hollywood Hills home, where it is believed that “several items of evidence” were found, though there has not been any updates on what was discovered during the raid. Until recently, he was not being treated as a suspect in her death.
Fans and online sleuths discovered a connection between the Houston-born singer and the slain teen, including matching tattoos and several alleged sightings of the two of them together as it is believed that they may have been romantically involved.
Celeste’s brother Matthew Rivas told NBCLA earlier this year that family members were aware that they knew each other. He also revealed that she was on her way to see a movie with him but never returned before she was reported missing by family.
In mid-September, a representative for D4vd confirmed that the singer was working with law enforcement as they carried out their investigation. “D4vd has been informed about what’s happened. And, although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities,” a spokesperson said.
D4vd himself has not yet spoken out publicly about Celeste’s death, nor has he been charged with any crimes.
