Snoop Dogg’s daughter has opened up about her profound grief as she said goodbye to her 11-month-old baby at a moving celebration of life service.
Cori Broadus, 26, announced on January 31 that her infant daughter, Codi Dreaux, had died just under a year after her birth. Posting a monochrome photo of herself with her late child, she penned, “Monday, I lost the love of my life. My Codi.”
Her partner Wayne “Duece” Polk, 33, also honored their daughter, writing, “I’ve been the saddest since u left me, Codi Dreaux. But I know u at peace. Daddy will always love you. My baby.” This past weekend, the devastated parents held a memorial service for their baby, surrounded by family and friends.

Cori shared multiple photos and clips on Instagram from the church gathering, where attendees wore coordinating “Codi’s Crew” shirts as the infant’s flower-adorned casket, topped with a stuffed bear, was lowered into the earth. “Part of me went with you,” Cori posted on Instagram, reports the Mirror US.
In footage from the service, Cori grieved her daughter’s passing and spoke about all the milestones she had hoped they would experience together, from first steps to the first school day. Standing beside her partner, Cori expressed, “I don’t understand why this happened.”
She went on, “I’m trusting God, but that doesn’t mean it makes sense to me. Some days I wonder if this world was just too cruel for someone as pure as you. Other days, I wonder how I’m supposed to live in a world without you in my arms.”

The heartbroken mom continued, “I am devastated knowing I didn’t get all the time to teach you all of the things I wanted to teach you. I wanted to show you how to be kind in a hard world; how to be brave when life feels unfair; how to love yourself fiercely.
“I wanted to watch you take your first step; celebrate your first birthday; walk you to your first day of school. I wanted to watch you take your first step; celebrate your first birthday; walk you to your first day of school.”
Little Codi passed away on Monday, January 26, just days after being released from the NICU. She arrived three months early in late February 2025. Cori posted on Instagram in February last year, “The princess arrived at 6 months. Baby girl came at 25 weeks today, and she’s perfect as ever.”
She also revealed on her story that she underwent an emergency C-section after developing HELLP syndrome, a dangerous pregnancy complication. The infant remained hospitalized for 10 months before finally being discharged at the start of this year. Upon Codi’s hospital discharge, Cori shared on Instagram, “She’s home. Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all.”
After the tragic loss of Codi, Cori reposted the update about her daughter’s homecoming from the hospital, overlaying it with the words, “20 days later? ! dawg im sick.”
Hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. , expressed his sentiments on Instagram. He posted a family picture featuring Cori, accompanied by a sparkling red heart emoji and a prayer hand emoji.
