Sony Pictures Television has extended its first-run feature film slate deal with Turkish pay TV operator Sinema TV.
This new agreement reups a similar deal inked in 2021 and bolsters the close rapport between Sony TV and the prominent pay-TV operator, which has first run rights to the bulk of Sony’s most popular recent and library titles.

The deal covers the majority of Sony’s current slate, giving Sinema TV exclusive pay-1 window rights in Turkey to titles such as “Karate Kid: Legends,” “28 Years Later,” “Until Dawn,” “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey.”
Other recent and classic Sony films covered by the deal comprise “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” “It Ends With Us,” “Paddington in Peru,” as well as the “Spider-Man,” “Jumanji,” “Venom,” “Men in Black,” “Karate Kid” and “Hotel Transylvania” franchises.
Turkey’s cinema and pay-TV landscape is evolving, with streamers like Netflix and Disney+ increasingly gaining ground though traditional pay-TV operators and specialized movie channels such as Sinema TV are still holding their own thanks to major studio deals such as this one.
“We are delighted to expand our long-standing partnership with Sony Pictures Television with a multi-year Pay 1 deal,” Sinema TV’s CEO Faruk Boyacıoğlu said in a statement.
Commented SPT EVP distribution and networks Mark Young: “It is fantastic to extend this major feature film deal with Sinema, and continue our collaborative relationship with the team there to bring some of the most exciting and popular titles from SPE’s current feature film slate, as well as those from our vast features library, to audiences across Turkey.”
