ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive trailer for Souvenir. This comes ahead of the upcoming independent comedy-drama’s world premiere at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre on Sunday, June 28. It will be a part of this year’s Dances With Films: Los Angeles.
“Kevin and Dani, two old, estranged friends, reunite one morning as they discover a stranger’s misplaced wallet. Kevin is single, studious, and panicking about his career in academia; Dani is polyamorous, selling weed, and recovering from a trip abroad, which she’s being oddly evasive about. They soon learn that the wallet’s owner is dead, famous, and being sued by a merciless midtown lawyer,” reads the official synopsis. “Meanwhile, someone is offering a $10,000 reward for the wallet’s return. As Kevin and Dani close in on answers about where the wallet really belongs, they become more entangled in the dead man’s business. And as we learn, the two of them may have unresolved business of their own.”

What happens in the Souvenir trailer?
The video introduces two old friends who embark on a day-long adventure in New York after an attempt to return a lost wallet leads them to weird and hilarious situations. The trailer teases the strange personalities they’ll encounter along their journey.
Souvenir is written and directed by David Ketterer Spencer. The movie is led by Ruby Cruz (Bottoms, Elden Ring) as Dani and Eric Berryman (Fallout) as Kevin. Joining them are Mozhan Navabi, Laith Nakli, Willie C. Carpenter, and Janeane Garofalo. Producing the dramedy are Scott DelaCruz and Chandler Wild. The creative team consists of director of photography Arlene Muller, editor James Codoyannis, composer Maxton Walker, and production designer Samantha Shoffner.
“Souvenir is a rom-com where the stakes are a friendship instead of a romance. It’s part buddy comedy, part detective story. It’s the kind of film that goes down easy and lingers in your mind,” Spencer said in a statement.
