TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — This singing sensation is capturing attention on the stage of the TV show, The Voice.
The DEK of Hearts trio, Dylan John, Emily Clapp, and Kollin Bailey, are continuing their journey on the NBC show, The Voice. From starting as close friends with a love for music, to becoming a booming sensation with over ten thousand followers on Instagram, they said this was something they had never imagined.
“Not what any of us had in mind when we were younger, but I believe this is better than what I had imagined when I was younger. To be able to do it, to achieve this level is incredible, but to be able to do it with the people that you absolutely love. I mean, it does not get better than that,” said Bailey.
With two days left to audition for The Voice, DEK of Hearts decided to upload a tape of “Heads Carolina”. The same song they start every show with. They said that as the stakes became higher, they were nervous about letting their coach down, but Bailey said that after Niall Horan came up to them and said he believed in them, it meant the world to them.

John shared how being on The Voice has opened many doors for them.
“We’re booking a lot more gigs. We’re getting asked to play. We’re getting asked to travel, which is really cool. I don’t feel like we’re just in the national bubble anymore, playing at the bars. Yeah, I just feel like we’re writing new music and we’re really looking forward to sharing, just with our fans, all the good stuff to come,” said John.
“We’re planning to start releasing music like crazy next year and so yeah, we’ve been writing nonstop and just trying to figure out our sound more and more for our old fans and for our new fans and I would say a specific shoutout to Terre Haute. I mean, some of our first fans came from Terre Haute and so we are very, very thankful for the fans that knew us before we had any followers on Instagram whatsoever,” said Clapp.
Just as they are thankful for Terre Haute, they said they are also thankful for the support from the viewers of The Voice.
“We’re super excited about the next round. So yeah, download the voice app and we would so appreciate the love and support of all of the fans,” said Bailey.
