Packed into the two full-length Christmas episodes of Bluey are life lessons you as a parent hope penetrate the mind of your toddler. Why, exactly, we should be nice to each other is explored in the episode “Verandah Santa.” And, as “Christmas Swim” shows, the messiness of our families is sometimes what makes them so lovable.
With episodes this subtly meaningful, there should be a soundtrack to go along with them. After all, the holiday never seems quite as complete without some festive tunes to sing and dance along to with your family. Enter the all new Bluey Christmas album. It will be released later this fall, and to get into the holiday spirit we can already listen to the first single.
What Can Families Expect From the ‘Bluey’ Christmas Album
The first Bluey Christmas song kids and parents can listen to together is called “Verandah Santa.” The track was inspired by the episode’s original theme, and it’s the first of four Bluey-themed holiday songs that will be released on November 7, 2025.
The composer behind the now-iconic Bluey theme, Joff Bush, also composed the songs on the holiday album, and the Camerata-Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra is featured on some of the tracks. In a press release, Bush shares that the tracks are “a truly great representation of an Australian Christmas.”
“We wanted to have a fun take on Tchaikovsky’s Christmas classic, ’The Nutcracker’ (one of our favorite pieces) because a fun Christmas needs fun music! We also wanted a ‘50s Disney-esque sound like some of our favorite Christmas records,” the Bluey music team adds in the same press release.
The Rest of the Songs on the ‘Bluey’ Christmas Album
The album also features songs called “I Don’t Have Chimney,” and a Christmas version of the “Bluey Theme Tune.”
The fourth song on the album is called “Let’s Play Verandah Santa,” another song inspired by the episode “Verandah Santa.” Bosh says the song “was created using [the] score from the original episode to make sure when you listen to this track you can feel like you’re back in the episode and playing along with Bluey and her family.”
Where We Can Listen to ‘Verandah Santa’
Although it’s not even Halloween yet, I can already feel the spirit of Christmas right around the corner, and frankly I am ready for it. If you feel the same way, you and your kids can listen to “Verandah Santa,” on Spotify and other streaming platforms.
The rest of the album will be available to stream on all platforms on November 7, 2025, and the tracks will be pressed into a vinyl, which will be sold at Walmart.
