The female members of the Royal Family play a huge role in the monarchy even if they are not as vocal as the men.
It’s not that the women don’t have anything to say, it’s that they are advising their spouses behind closed doors, says one royal expert, which sounds like being a First Lady or Second Gentlemanhere in the U.S.
When speaking to Ian Pelham Turner, he described how Queen Camilla, Princess Kate and Meghan Markle are similiar and how that ties the together.
“Being a spouse to a member of the Royal Family is probably one of the most difficult jobs, if you like, to do,” Pelham Turner said.
“If you think of it at the moment, Camilla wasn’t born into the Royal Family, Kate wasn’t born into the Royal Family, Meghan wasn’t born into the Royal Family.”
Camilla and Kate both live in the U.K. and see each other on a regular basis, and it seems like the women of Windsor have their hands full, according to Pelham Turner.
“So behind the scenes, it could be that the women are more sympathetic and are guiding their spouses through situations,” Pelham Turner said.
“And maybe advising their respective husbands on mellowing the thoughts that they’re having,” he added.
“I think that’s a really good thing to happen because I think sometimes Charles could have moments of being outspoken, William certainly can.”
While Meghan may not be a working member of the Royal Family, it’s no different for the U.S.-based royal.
He added: “Obviously Harry certainly can as well.”
