Sydney Sweeney Sequel Gets Exciting Update From Glen Powell

Nearly two years since the first installment’s successful theatrical release, Anyone But You 2 has finally received a brand new update from lead star Glen Powell. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, it remains a hit among the audiences with a current Popcornmeter rating of 87% on Rotten Tomatoes.

During a recent interview with THR, Powell confirmed that he and Anyone But You co-star Sydney Sweeney are “still talking” about the potential sequel to their popular romantic comedy movie. He admitted that the project may take a long time since they’ve both agreed that the sequel will only move forward “until it’s the right idea,” which “requires patience.”

Anyone But You was directed by Will Gluck (Easy A) from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ilana Wolpert. The film also starred Alexandra Shipp, GaTa, Dermot Mulroney, Rachel Griffiths, Michelle Hurd, Bryan Brown, Darren Barnet, and Hadley Robinson. Executive producers were Sweeney, Natalie Sellers, Alyssa Altman, and Jacqueline Monetta, with Gluck, Joe Roth, and Jeff Kirschenbaum producing. During its theatrical run, the movie has earned a worldwide gross of over $220 million at the box office.

“In the first installment, Bea and Ben look like the perfect couple, but after an amazing first date something happens that turns their fiery hot attraction ice cold — until they find themselves unexpectedly thrust together at a destination wedding in Australia,” reads the synopsis. “So they do what any two mature adults would do: pretend to be a couple.”
