Tarek El Moussa is opening up about a difficult situation that is, luckily, behind him now.
In a Tuesday, September 16, interview with Entertainment Tonight, the HGTV star, 44, broke his silence on his Las Vegas battery case, which was dismissed by a judge last month.
“It was just a really unfortunate incident,” El Moussa admitted. “I was put in a really weird situation where I had to defend my dad.”
“Luckily, everything is OK, and I think everything is gone now and done now,” he explained.
The Flip or Flop alum noted “everyone’s ok” and he “didn’t get in trouble with the law by any means.”

Tarek’s wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, also chimed in on the subject, saying, “We’re on TV so everything is shown a lot more, but you know, fights happen unfortunately.”
In June, Tarek got into a confrontation at The Palazzo at The Venetian Resort, where he allegedly “charged” and “shoved” a man, according to the police report obtained by Us Weekly.
However, the reality TV personality claimed that the man “hit his dad on the back with his hand,” so he “got out of his chair to confront [him] to protect his dad due to him having back problems.”
At the time, Tarek was not arrested and he received a battery citation instead.
In August, Us Weekly reported a judge dismissed the misdemeanor battery charge as Tarek went through “impulse control counseling” and stayed “out of trouble.”
