Swifties all over the world have been sent into a right spiral now that she’s dropped her eagerly anticipated new album.
Yep, Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl just dropped today (3 October) and fans have been treated to 12 brand-new songs which include; ‘The Fate of Ophelia’, ‘Elizabeth Taylor’, ‘Opalite’, ‘Father Figure’, ‘Eldest Daughter’, ‘Ruin the Friendship’, ‘Actually Romantic’, ‘Wi$h Li$t’, ‘Wood’, ‘CANCELLED!’, ‘Honey’ and the titular ‘The Life of a Showgirl (feat. Sabrina Carpenter)’.
It hasn’t taken long for the fandom to run wild on social media with sharing their theories, speculations and alleged ‘hidden symbolism’ behind some of Taylor’s lyrics – including an alleged ‘diss track’ against fellow pop sensation Charli XCX, as well as the dark meaning behind ‘The Fate of Ophelia’.
And the latest chatter surrounds the 35-year-old’s fiancé, Travis Kelce, also 35, as there’s been a very cheeky NFSW reference.

OK, so, the ninth track on the album, ‘Wood’, may start totally PG-13 with lyrics like ‘seems to be that you and me we make our own luck’ and ‘it’s you and me forever dancing in the dark’.
However, the track doesn’t take long to get down to business – quite literally – as Taylor goes on to sing: “Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see / His lovе was the key that opened my thighs.”
There’s also: “Girls, I don’t need to catch the bouquet, mm / To know a hard rock is on the way / And baby, I’ll admit I’ve been a little superstitious / The curse on me was broken by your magic wand.”
And, of course, the ‘New Heights of manhood / I ain’t gonna knock on wood’ line, a VERY on-the-nose reference to Travis’ New Heights podcast and wood, as in, morning wood…
After making the discovery, one X user penned: “Wait I just realised that she says ‘I ain’t gotta knock on wood’ which can also mean that she doesn’t have to make him get hard.”

Quoting the lyrics, a second beamed: “I’M SORRY?! ‘New Heights (New Heights) of manhood (Manhood) I ain’t gotta knock on wood’. I literally had to stop the song to shout NEW NEWSSSSS when I realised!”
A third likewise chimed in: “‘The curse on me was broken by your magic wand (Ah) / Seems to be that you and me, we make our own luck / New Heights (New Heights) of manhood (Manhood) / I ain’t gotta knock on wood.
“Does this mean what I think it mea- omg!”
This is far from the first time the innuendo of ‘wood’ has raised eyebrows, as a few months ago (26 August), Swifties were convinced that Taylor and Travis’ engagement post made a similar raunchy reference.
Eagle-eyed fans were quick to clock the placement of where Taylor tagged her fiancé in the first picture – namely, on a massive tree trunk or ‘wood’.
And, as we know, ‘wood’ is another word for, ahem, an erect penis.
